Nineteen High Mowing students, along with Cary Hughes as their advisor, attended the Model United Nations at Bentley University May 28 through May 30. The special guest and keynote speaker was Hamid Abdel-Jaber, who worked at the U.N. for more than 25 years before taking a position at the Center for Middle Eastern Studies at Rutgers University.
Here are some snapshots from the event, showing the model U.N. participants in action: studying issues, making speeches, caucusing, drafting working papers, presenting resolutions for formal consideration, crafting “friendly” and “unfriendly” amendments, and so forth.
And here are some additional photos of the students (and the rest of us) at more relaxed moments.
